Important information for November 2024
Compatibility of your EBICS client
We would like to inform you that Hamburg Commercial Bank AG will update its EBICS server in November 2024. This update also includes the update of software components, so we kindly ask you to inform the department or person in your company responsible for the implementation of IT updates.
Please note that the changeover can take place in good time or even now. This will help to avoid possible interruptions.
If you have any questions or require support, please contact your EBICS client product manufacturer. Alternatively, we are happy to offer you our EBICS products. Please contact us if you are interested.
An upcoming and mandatory security update concerns TRAVIC-Sign. This security update is an important step to ensure the integrity and confidentiality of your data and to meet the latest online security standards.
You use the TRAVIC-Sign application to sign or transfer files in our Electronic Banking. This is an application that is stored locally on each user’s computer.
In order to continue to guarantee maximum security for your payments, it is necessary that the installed TRAVIC-Sign version is up to date with the designation 3.1.19. If you are still using an older version, the update should be carried out before November 17, 2024, as we will also be updating our platform on this date. Otherwise, we can no longer guarantee that you will be able to access your electronic banking without any problems.
You can check which version you are using and – if necessary – update to the new TRAVIC-Sign version in just a few steps. Instructions for checking the version and installing the latest version can be found here:
The EBICS server of Hamburg Commercial Bank Bank will only send “HTTP Status 200” as a positive confirmation in the HTTP response. A reason phrase, the textual description of the HTTP status, will no longer take place.
This can lead to the EBICS client no longer being able to process responses from the EBICS server correctly, which leads to problems in communication.
Does the EBICS client you are using expect a reason phrase in the HTTP response?
Beispiel: HTTP Status 200:OK
The reason phrase has been deprecated with Tomcat version 8.5 and removed in Tomcat version 9.0. Further information can be found on Tomcat 8.5 – Section: Standard Implementation, Attribute send Reason-Phrase and on Tomcat 9.0 – Section: Tomcat 9.0.35 (market), Catalina, Remove Reason-Phrase.
If your EBICS client is affected by the described HTTP response, we strongly recommend that you upgrade to the latest version, which has corrected this behavior. This change is necessary to ensure continued smooth access to our payment transaction services.
For security reasons, Hamburg Commercial Bank AG no longer supports EBICS client products that contain outdated software components.
Among others, the two EBICS client products MultiCash or GenoCash in the version smaller than 4 are affected by this change.
We therefore strongly recommend that you switch to the latest version of your EBICS client before November 2024 to ensure continued smooth access to our payment transaction services. Please note that the changeover should take place in good time to avoid possible interruptions.
If you have any questions about switching to newer versions of MultiCash or GenoCash, please contact your software manufacturer. Alternatively, we are happy to offer you our EBICS products.
