Hamburg Commercial Bank provides USD 180 million financing to MPC Containerships ASA
Hamburg Commercial Bank (HCOB) has provided listed MPC Containerships ASA with financing totalling 180 million US dollars, with a term of five years. The credit facility consists of a term loan of 130 million US dollars and a revolving credit facility for a further 50 million US dollars.
“We are pleased to be able to realise a very significant financing with MPC Containerships ASA,” said Jan-Philipp Rohr, Global Head of Shipping at Hamburg Commercial Bank. “With the financing of the listed company, we underline our good market position as well as our ambitions both in Scandinavia and in Germany. At the same time, this credit facility proves that we can also implement more complex and larger projects in a short time.“
The Oslo listed MPC Containerships ASA is using the financing both to pay off existing loans and to repay a bond. “We appreciate the agility, professionalism and support by HCOB in arranging the facility, which puts MPCC in a unique position to fulfil corporate goals,” said Constantin Baack, Chief Executive Officer of MPC Container Ships ASA.
