Professional experience
Jens Thiele has been Chief Investment Officer (CIO) since 1 January 2026 and is responsible for the bank’s customer business. On 1 October 2025, Jens was appointed Chief Commercial Officer and joined the Management Board. As Managing Director for corporate clients in Germany and across Europe, he is responsible for project financing, payment transactions and trade finance. In his role, he successfully supports his clients in arranging tailor-made financing solutions. After starting at the bank in 2011, Jens quickly held management positions.
In 2020 he began building up the international business and started to set up a team that focuses on primary and secondary market transactions outside of Germany and expands the bank’s loan portfolio doing transactions in the areas of leveraged finance and specialty lending. In 2021, Jens took over the management of the corporate client business in Germany and the project finance business. He has been the bank’s Chief Representative since the end of 2022. Jens studied at the University of Hamburg and graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration. Jens is a water sports enthusiast and enjoys spending his free time at the Baltic Sea.
