A historic railway building, the Alte Postbahnhof has been upgraded to the here and now, thanks to its elegant architecture and abundance of light. It has been successfully transformed into an optimal setting for today’s urban lifestyles, making it possible to live and work in one place.
Project details
In the spacious daylight-flooded foyer, the red brickwork of the historic viaduct meets the light-coloured concrete elements of the new building. This creates an exciting contrast right from the start, one that shapes the character of the entire building and its green spaces. The modern building has an intelligent cooling system that transfers excess heat to the municipal heating system. It is also equipped with an energy-efficient heating system and has been awarded DNGB Gold certification. Variable spaces with high-quality furnishings, an in-house fitness center, first-rate catering, as well as parking spaces for 56 cars and 300 bicycles are all tailored to meet the needs of today’s agile working world. Other highlights: the large, transparent and flexibly dividable rooms, high ceilings (3.15 m), floor-to-ceiling windows and automated LED lighting. It’s a smart building (Wired Score Platinum certified) with scalable IT infrastructure and access control.
